A part of me is in Space right now ๐
Yes ! You read that title right ! A part of me is in Space ! Orbiting our lovely blue Earth.
By part of me, I mean part of my engineering mind ! Not an actual part of my body, as this would prove to be quite difficult both for the satellite AND my body !
The satellite in question is Pegasus, a cubesat developed in the FH Wiener Neustadt , in collaboration with TU Wien Space Team and the Space Tech Group (STG).
It is part of the project QB50. A constellation of 50 Cubesats from universities and private groups.
I specifically worked on the design of a test bed to create a new type of navigation system for the cubesat which would be based on the incoming solar rays angle on the solar panel.
For that purpose I built a 3 degrees of freedom gimbal that would simulate any position of the satellite. You can see it running in this news video here.
